Attention New Milford readers—your next stack of summer reads could be your last for a while! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library are hosting their Annual Summer Book Sale from July 11 to 13 at New Milford High School, and it’s not just another sale—it’s the final one for at least two years due to major library construction.
Here’s your chance to explore thousands of pre-loved books across all genres at deeply discounted prices:
- Thursday, July 11: Early Bird Hour (9–10 a.m.) for $5 admission; free entry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 12: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, July 13: Final clearance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—all books half price!
With no book sales planned until the library reopens post-renovation, the Friends are urging the community: “Think ahead and STOCK up!!” Whether you’re an avid collector, a parent building a kids’ library, or just love a good read, this is your last shot until 2027.
Don’t wait—this literary farewell won’t come again for years:
